SugarPea Designs: bonjour

Have you played along with the newest SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge?

Here's how I was inspired, I used the sketch and the color pink:

I combined the new Oh La La set with the Mugs & Kisses set.  Aren't they fun together?

I LOVE that bonjour word bubble, so sweet!  The Spots & Stripes Pastels panel is a fun way to add color to my overall design.  I like the kraft and pink combo.

I could really go for a croissant and latte right now!  In case you haven't read about it, the 2018 Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers blog hop starts on Friday.  SugarPea Designs is just one of the fantastic Super Sponsors.

Hero Arts: you're a dahl!

Hello and Happy Monday!  Did you have a good weekend?  I did, but it does always seem to fly by so quickly, doesn't it?  Today I'm sharing a card using the Hero Arts Hero Florals Dahlia Stamps & Cut:

The sentiment has been heat embossed in white on black paper.

I teamed up the bloom with one of my favorites the CG681 Candy Stripe Bold Prints.  A bit of paint splattering and I called it good.

Whew, okay here's how I was inspired:

This year I decided to ink up the Reverse Confetti Honey Bear set.  Oh he's so cute with his friend the bee.  I have them nestled onto a Tag Me.  The clouds have been cut from craft foam.

I've had that hex embossing folder in my stash for a while.  It's perfect in the Sunshine cardstock.  The sentiment is from The Buzz stamp set, love the mixed fonts.

I can't wait to see how the other's were inspired!  You can find the complete hop listing on Milka's blog!  A big shout out to Milka for the invite and the coordination of this awesome event!

Heffy Doodle: Wheely Great Day

So during the last Ellen Hutson LLC Sale, I promised myself that I didn't 'need' any other new sets.  I have a basket full of things that haven't been inked up.  I ended up popping this cute Heffy Doodle, Hello Squeakheart set in my cart:

Okay, those 'lil guys are adorable, aren't they?!  They have the best pun sentiments too, those kill me!

Honestly, I wanted to use all of the cute images in the set but decided on the three and then made my own 'cheesy stencil' with Hero Arts Infinity Circle Dies.  I topped everything off with paint specks with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi black watercolor.

My card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches:

SugarPea Designs: May Sweet2Repeat Blog Hop!

Hello!  Hello!   It's the Sweet2Repeat Blog Hop!  Now that so many of you have the SugarPea Designs Spring Product Release, we're hopping to inspire you!

Would you like to WIN a $20 gift certificate to spend on some SugarPea Designs of your own?  Please visit with each of our design team members and leave a comment for your chance to win! The winner will be announced on the SugarPea Designs Blog on Saturday, May 26th.

I think the Spring Product Release is one of my FAVorites.  The kids + I had the opportunity to vacation in Paris • England •  Amsterdam last fall (def a trip of a lifetime).  My boy was doing a semester abroad in Paris.  I made this card especially for my boy:

This is a new to me color trio:  peach  •  celadon  •  gold
I happened to spot this while looking through my feedly.  Evidently it made an impression and I do like the fresh look.

I started off with a cantaloupe colored cardstock.  I inked it up with two different shades of ink, on the top 1/3 and the bottom 1/3.  I followed it up with flecks of white paint (Kuretake Gansai Tambi).

I used the largest SugarCut - Postage Stamp frame in gold glitter cardstock.  I layered a smaller rectangle die and ran it through my die cutting machine.

I combined 2 of the SugarCut - ParisScape's cut out of celadon cardstock.  I adhered them directly to the Postage Stamp frame.  This help me to center it onto the cardbase.

The SugarCut - Postage Stamp is awesome because it comes with words + more.  I used the 'Sending' in white craft foam.   I struggled to figure out where I wanted to put the sentiment, Happy Mail from the Sending Sentiments stamp set.  Then it hit me to adhere it behind the Eiffel Tower.  It's been stamped in the coordinating ink used on the upper 1/3 of the base panel.

Reverse Confetti: How old?

Snarky birthday card?  Yes, Please.

I was chuckling as I designed this card.  More about the sentiment in a smidge.  I'll start with the Reverse Confetti Lime Green panel.  It's been stamped with Whole Lotta Dots in Parakeet.  The sweet scallop is Iced Aqua with the Double Edge Scallop Border Confetti Cuts.

The cake from Candles 'N Confetti has been stamped and colored with alcohol markers.  Truthfully it has several layers of different colors until I could get to the right shade.  Do you spy the heat embossed dots on the frosting?  The cake stand is the same situation, I couldn't get the color quite right so it has several different layers of color too.  I don't generally do that but was pretty persistent during this particular coloring session.

The sentiment is a combo of Fancy Word Coordinates and Celebrations.  I topped off my design with Solid Charcoal twine.

I'm linking up to the Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge.  This month the theme is Birthday.
